Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski got off injured in the first-half of the Champions League clash against Porto.

Barcelona have confirmed that Robert Lewandowski has suffered an ankle injury following tests on the striker.

“Tests carried out this morning have revealed that Robert Lewandowski has a left ankle sprain. He is out and his recovery will determine his availability,” the club said in a statement on Thursday.

It was initially said that Lewandowski’s setback was just a heavy knock and that he could even be available for Sunday’s La Liga game against Granada. However, the tests have revealed a sprained ankle.

Lewandowski could miss up to a month of action through the injury, which means he might be back only in early November.

Robert Lewandowski is a doubt for the La Liga clash against Real Madrid on October 28, reports Diario Sport’s Toni Juanmarti.

Xavi may now turn to Ferran Torres to replace Lewandowski.
