Former Barcelona striker Kevin-Prince Boateng, has revealed a funny incident involving himself, the club and Barca legend Lionel Messi.
The Messi-Ronaldo rivalry was strong at the time, and he was forced to choose his GOAT in public, Boateng has revealed.
During his conversation on Rio Ferdinand’s Vibe with FIVE podcast, Kevin-Prince Boateng revealed that he had to lie about his preferences to wear a Barcelona shirt.
“I remember when I arrived in Barca, they asked me straight away who the best player in the world was. I had to say it was Lionel Messi, but I was lying.
“It was one of the biggest lies of my life. I usually always say the truth but this one I had to lie about because I wanted to put on that shirt for one time.
“I always supported Real Madrid when I was a teenager. I love Cristiano Ronaldo. But they told me I had to say that, otherwise I wouldn’t play.”
