The Lionel Messi return to Barcelona is one that just may happen after all.
According to reports, Barcelona could make a loan offer for Messi in January.
This is possible, as an MLS club can loan a player out to a European club on a short-term deal, if the club misses out on the playoffs.
Inter Miami are set to miss out on an MLS playoff spot, as they are currently 5 points behind the playoff zone with just 3 games left – and there are four teams ahead who are also fighting for the playoffs, so Miami’s chances to reach the next stage are extremely slim.
Messi won’t be the first to do that, as it has been done by Thierry Henry and David Beckham.
Henry came back to Arsenal for just 2 months in 2012, while Beckham agreed to spend half a season at Milan, skipping part of the regular MLS season.
Now, Barcelona fans can dream of a Messi return.
