Xavi currently has a depleted squad, especially in attack, and the Barca boss is trying as much as possible to manage the situation.
Youngsters coming into the team has helped alleviate the impact, and Lamine Yamal is becoming a key figure at the club despite being only 16.
The teenager made history against Porto, as he became the youngest player ever to start a Champions League game at the age of 16 years and 83 days.
Eventually, Yamal who had a good game, had to leave the pitch abruptly.
Xavi explained after the game that he didn’t really mean to sub off the teenager, but that the 16-year-old wasn’t feeling too well.
“Lamine Yamal was unwell. He had an illness, he has been telling me about it for a while,” Xavi told the media after Barcelona beat Porto 1-0.
“I took advantage of the break to tell him to be quick and go to the toilet, but in the end they told me he wouldn’t be able to get back to the pitch.”
