Barcelona were away to Porto at the Estadio do Dragao, for our second Champions League group stage game of the season.
It wasn’t an easy night, but Barca did their job, and one quick break from Ferran Torres was enough to secure all three points with a slender 1-0 win.
One highlight of the game was the team’s ability to keep a clean sheet, despite the pressure from the home side.
Xavi praised his entire backline after the game – Ter Stegen, Ronald Araujo, Jules Kounde, Alejandro Balde and Joao Cancelo.
Speaking after the game, Xavi said (as quoted by Mundo Deportivo): A great match from Ter Stegen, another clean sheet. The entire defensive line of Araujo, Kounde, Balde, Cancelo was very good.”
Xavi had positive things to say about Gavi who was sent off late in the game for a second bookable offence.
“Gavi has more control over himself this year. He has matured a lot since I arrived,” Xavi said.
