One quick break from Ferran Torres was enough to secure all three points with a slender 1-0 win.

It was Gundogan who gave Torres an assist for the goal, in what was a resolute Barca performance.

Besides the assist, Xavi was generally pleased with how Gundogan controlled the midfield.

Xavi said: We lacked patience and calm on the pitch, but one of the people who gave us that was Gundogan.

“Gundogan is a guarantee and a privilege to have him in the team. He is a player who does not lose the ball. He creates chances for us.”
