Barcelona have been dealt a major blow as star striker Robert Lewandowski was taken off with a potential injury during the Champions League game against FC Porto.
Lewandowski left the pitch just a little after the half-hour mark, as he appeared to have sustained an injury to his left foot when he was taken down by a rash challenge by David Carmo around the 21st-minute mark.
The 35-year-old tried to carry on, but he appeared to be in discomfort and was eventually subbed off for Ferran Torres in the 34th minute.
Lewandowski limped off the pitch and was seen icing his left leg while seated on the bench after his substitution.
Barcelona currently have to cope without both Pedri and Frenkie de Jong who are injured. Raphinha is also out.
Xavi wasn’t too happy as he spoke about his team’s unfortunate situation.
“This shouldn’t be an excuse, but we have the best players injured,” Xavi told the media after Barcelona’s 1-0 win against Porto.
