Barcelona have been accused of bribing Jose Maria Negreira, the former vice-president of the Spanish Referee Committee.

Barcelona have been found to have made payments to Negreira, hence prompting the accusations.

The club however explains that Negreira was ‘hired’ to provide them with technical reports on the opposition players and referees.

With the case now in court, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has said he’s worried about the situation.

“I am worried about this issue [the Negreira case], like the whole world of football about such a serious matter,” Carlo Ancelotti has told the media.

“I’ve been living in this world of football for 40 years, and when this type of issue happens, we’re all worried. Hopefully, justice can do its job and reach a solution.”
