Just a few days after climbing to the top of the league, Barcelona may yet go down again from top spot if Real Madrid beat Las Palmas.
The Blaugrana were held to a 2-2 draw against Mallorca away from home on Tuesday night.
Speaking after the game, Barca midfielder Oriol Romeu revealed that the team’s problem is the defensive issues.
Barcelona were opened a number of times against Mallorca, and have conceded four goals in the last two games.
Barca have also failed to keep a clean sheet in four of their first seven league games of the season.
“We are giving too many chances in defence. The fact that they counterattack us easily hurts us a lot,” Romeu told the media after the game.
“We need to improve against defensive blocks.”
