Xavi has spoken on the future of Brazilian striker Vitor Roque, and has confirmed that Roque will join Barcelona in January.

Barcelona signed Vitor Roque for €40m in the summer from Brazilian side Athletico Paranaense.

There was uncertainty as to when Roque will join Barcelona – either in January or next summer, amid reports that it would be too complicated for Barcelona to register Vitor Roque in January.

Xavi however believes Roque will join in January.

“There are a lot of chances of this [Vitor Roque’s January arrival] to happen,” Xavi has told the media.

“The most important thing for him is to recover from an injury.”

The 18-year-old striker recently picked up an injury that may be keep him out of action for up to three months.
