Barcelona fans will be relishing the club’s 3-2 comeback victory over Celta Vigo on Saturday.

However, there’s also a sad news from that fixture.

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong suffered an ankle injury in the victory on Saturday.

The Dutchman was subbed off in the first-half against Celta Vigo, and will be out until November.

Barcelona confirmed in a statement: “Tests carried out tonight have shown that the first team player De Jong suffers an injury to the distal tibioperoneal syndesmosis of the right ankle.

“He is out of the squad and his progress will determine his availability.”

It appears that De Jong will miss the El Clasico billed to be played on 28 October against Real Madrid.
