De Jong dominated the middle of the pack, and his passing range was brilliant as well.

The Netherlands international covered lots of distance, and was generally brilliant.

Xavi sung his praise after the game, while admitting that he’s in the best moment of his career.

“Frenkie [de Jong] is a fundamental footballer for us. I think he is in the best moment of his career. I would extend his contract with my eyes closed,” Xavi told the media after Barcelona’s 5-0 win against Antwerp.

“He is growing a lot. He’s a capital and a fundamental player for us.”

It just seems everyone at the club has moved up a gear, as even Gavi and Ferran Torres have improved massively. The signing of Ilkay Gundogan, Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo has definitely brought life to the team.
