Ilkay Gundogan has hailed Xavi, and what he has achieved at Barcelona.

The club legend led Barcelona to win the league title last season and also the Super Cup, despite the club being in transition.

Gundogan who has been very impressive since joining Barcelona from Manchester City, having played under Pep Guardiola, has reserved massive praise for Xavi.

“Xavi is really good. He has proven it. With all the difficulties that the club is going through, winning La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup was a great success. I think the main credit goes to the coach,” Gundogan told El Pais.

“When I see Xavi speak before and during games, there are many things that are the same as how I see them or how I was used to doing it with Pep at City. We’re playing good football. I am impressed with Xavi.”
