Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez, is among the five nominees for FIFA’s The Best Coach in 2023.

The Spaniard did well with Barca last season, as the club won the La Liga and Super Cup.

Despite all his achievements since taking over as Barca manager, Xavi has often faced criticisms from the Spanish press.

Speaking to the Spanish media on Friday, Xavi gave a sarcastic response to his award nomination.

Xavi said: “It’s funny that I was nominated for the FIFA Best Coach award.

“You journalists criticized me all the time, so I was surprised to be among the candidates.”

Xavi was brutally criticised for failing to get past the Champions League group stage last season. But, it’s so clear that the Barca legend has improved the club greatly.
