Joao Felix signed up for Barcelona on September 1, just before the close of the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old has already made his debut for the club – a cameo against Osasuna away at El Sadar.

Felix has been given a warm welcome by the Barcelona fans, and it has indeed surprised the young Portuguese.

Speaking to SPORT, Felix said: “I feel surprised. I’ve always said I wanted to play there and maybe that’s why they love me so much.”

The 23-year-old forward also said he can’t wait to play in front of the home support at the Montjuic Stadium, although he would have preferred to play at the iconic Camp Nou ground.

“I’m really looking forward to playing on Montjuïc in front of our fans. It’s a shame it won’t be at the Camp Nou. We hope to play a good game and take the three points,” he said.
