Barcelona may have won the La Liga last season, but the club isn’t seen as one of the favourites to win the Champions League this campaign.

It’s been eight years since Barcelona last won the Champions League, when a certain MSN trio were present – as Messi, Suarez and Neymar ran riot in Europe as the deadliest trio.

Summer signing Joao Cancelo believes Barca can fight for the Champions League this season.

“It is true that in recent years Barça has not done well in Europe, but it is a very big club. At this moment there are more favourite teams than us,” Cancelo told Sport.

“We are going to try to get Barca back to the level it has always shown in the Champions League.

“We have a very good team and we can achieve great things. The squad is young but has a lot of quality.”
