Barcelona defeated Osasuna 2-1 on Sunday, but it wasn’t an easy game for the Blaugrana.
Jules Kounde scored the opening goal before half-time, but the hosts drew level in the 76th minute.
Robert Lewandowski won and converted a penalty nearly ten minutes later, as Barca took all three points.
Lewandowski has so far scored twice this season, but the Pole international has been up for criticism amid his slow start to the campaign.
Xavi has however hailed the veteran striker.
“I think we’re too demanding with Robert,” Xavi said in his press conference after Barca beat Osasuna 2-1.
“Lewandowski has given us four points in the last two games, he scored in the last match, he scored today, he played a good positional game.
“He didn’t have too many touches but he was very well positioned. I think he played well.
“Even if we had won without his goal, I think he played a good game. He forced the penalty, he converted it, and the other day he gave us the win.
“We can’t say he’s in a bad moment, he played very well today. I think we are too demanding sometimes of the players.
“I was happy with him today, he works hard and he’s Lewandowski, he’s our striker.”
Lewandowski scored the winner in the 4-3 win over Villarreal.
