Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet has left Barcelona for the second season in a row.

The Frenchman has joined Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season.

Aston Villa will cover a large percentage of the player’s salary. No buy option was included in the deal.

Lenglet spent last season on loan with Tottenham, and was expected to move to the London side permanently, but that didn’t work out.

Lenglet has a deal with Barca that will expire in 2026. Being a top earner, his departure will help bring down Barcelona’s wage bill.
