Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez are two Barcelona players to watch out for in the near future.

Both players featured against Villarreal on Sunday evening. Lamine Yamal played from the start, while Fermin Lopez was a second-half substitute.

Xavi held high praises for the two La Masia products after the game against Villarreal.

Xavi, who also broke into the first team from the La Masia, has revealed what he told the youngsters.

Xavi said: “They also showed faith in me when I was 17 or 18.

“[Fermin] is another example. We need to look at the youth academy, especially given the economic situation we’re in.

“Lamine Yamal was excellent today as well. I told them that I was scared when I was in their shoes, and I’ve told them not to be scared.”

Speaking on the team’s performance against Villarreal, Xavi said: We need to improve defensively. But I’m satisfied, particularly with the second half. We showed patience. It’s a positive step forward in terms of our style of play.”
