Ferran Torres has been massively criticised since his move from Manchester City in January 2022.
The Spain international had struggled to justify his price tag, and was even tipped to be among the players the club will sell this summer.
Torres had vowed to impress this season, as he said during pre-season that he’d put in the work to make sure he succeeds at Barcelona.
The 23-year-old was on fire during pre-season, and has been brilliant this season as well.
Against Villarreal, Torres came off the bench to score the third goal in a 4-3 thriller. The Spaniard has now scored two goals in back to back games, when brought in as a substitute.
Speaking about his newfound form, Torres said: “I have been working very well, and sometimes it cannot be seen.
“The most important thing is to be able to help the team. When I’m on the pitch, I’m there to help as much as possible.
“My game time? It’s Xavi who decides the starting eleven.”
