Barcelona register new set of players

Barcelona have registered Clement Lenglet and Marcos Alonso to play in the La Liga.

Lenglet spent last season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, making 26 appearances in the Premier League, but has returned to Spain for now.

Tottenham are interested in signing him permanently, and have held talks with Barcelona over re-signing the 28-year-old.

Barcelona have also registered Marcos Alonso ahead of the game against Villarreal.

After goalkeeper Ter Stegen signed a new contract with a pay cut, Barca had the space in FFP to register at least one more player.

It was initially believed that Inaki Pena would be the player to be registered. But Xavi instructed Barca to register Alonso instead.

Pena was ignored as Barca had La Masia goalkeepers like Ander Astralaga and Diego Kochen to cover for Ter Stegen.

Both Alonso and Lenglet are available for sale.
