Joao Cancelo is expected to sign up for Barcelona from Manchester City this summer.

According to reporter Alfredo Martinez, Cancelo has already rented a flat in Barcelona ahead of his transfer to Barcelona.

Cancelo has reportedly paid for a new home in the pricey Via Augusta area where flats cost up to €15,000 per month.

Cancelo’s new home is close to Barca’s Ciudad Deportiva training base.

Cancelo is expected to sign for Barcelona on a season-long loan deal, with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, reports from Thursday confirmed that Cancelo’s move to Barca slowed down, as the player was not given permission to travel to Spain.

Cancelo was due to arrive in Barcelona on Thursday to complete the transfer, but that didn’t happen.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the deal was paused because of Financial Fair Play restrictions on Barcelona.

Romano however assures that “Cancelo will join Barca.” For now though both sides are being patient while all the paperwork are checked.

Barca will be hoping everything goes as planned, with the transfer window set to close in less than a week’s time.
