Xavi set to get bumper salary increase. Well deserved

Xavi was appointed as Barcelona manager in November 2021, and has done a good job so far, as he has led Barca to two trophies – the La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup.

The 43-year-old is now set to extend his contract with the club.

According to Sport, Barcelona will finalise contract talks with Xavi immediately after the transfer window closes on September 1.

The new deal will keep Xavi at the club until the summer of 2026, and Xavi will get a bumper pay rise from the €5m per-year net he currently earns.

Reports claim Xavi could get double his wages in this new deal.

Previous reports had claimed that Xavi wanted a yearly salary of €12m to renew his contract, which the club didn’t seem too keen on.

However, it now appears that a deal will be announced soon.

At a recent press conference, Xavi was asked about the renewal, and he calmed everyone down by saying: “On a scale of 0 to 10, it’s 10 out of 10 [likely to happen].”
