Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal has a bright future ahead of him, and Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez believes in the potential of the teenager.
The 16-year-old was handed his first start against Cadiz last weekend, and holds the record as the youngest player to feature in the La Liga.
He had a good game, and was unlucky not to get a goal or an assist.
According to Opta Stats, Lamine Yamal seems to be a danger in the box with 14 touches in the opposition box, which is second only to Vinicius Jr. (20) for the number of touches he has made in the opposition box in La Liga this term.
Considering the fact that Yamal has made just one start, and his other appearance was a cameo against Getafe, it only shows how much of a player he is.
The youngster is also set to be called up by Spain manager Luis de la Fuente for Spain’s upcoming UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers.
The 16-year-old could break Gavi’s record as the youngest player to feature for the Spanish team. He met with two representatives of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) earlier today, which implies a possible switch to Spain.
