According to reports from Xavier Bosch of Mundo Deportivo, Xavi is planning for a formation change.
The Barca manager is planning to switch to a system that will permit four attackers.
Xavi already tried this system in pre-season and has once used it in a La Liga game.
Against Real Madrid in pre-season, Xavi switched to this system, as Barcelona finished the game with Raphinha, Ansu Fati, Ez Abde and Ferran Torres all on the pitch. Barca would win the tie 3-0.
Against Cadiz, Xavi also made a switch which saw Abde, Ferran, Fati and Robert Lewandowski finishing the game, in a 2-0 win.
With Barca tending to score at least two goals per game in a system of four attackers, Xavi now plans on utilising it on a full-scale.
This formation may seem suspect defensively. But it would if the players can maintain a good energy level and positional discipline.
