Barcelona player breaks La Liga record after 2-0 win over Cadiz

Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal became the youngest player to start a La Liga game this century as Barcelona beat Cadiz 2-0.

The 16-year-old started the game against Cadiz, as he came into the side in place of the suspended Raphinha.

The 16-year-old had a good game and caused the Cadiz fullbacks problems all games with his tricky dribbling.

Lamine Yamal could have gotten a goal, but was denied by an excellent save from Conan Ledesma.

Yamal could have won a penalty, as he was brought down in the Cadiz box after going past his man, but the referee failed to point to the spot.

At just 16 years and 38 days, Yamine Lamal is now the La Liga’s youngest starter.

The youngster already have a La Liga winners’ medal after making his debut aged just 15 at the end of last season – the youngest player ever to make an appearance in the club’s first team.
