Barcelona defender Sergio Dest has sealed a season-long loan deal to Dutch side PSV.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Barca will cover for 50% of his wages during the loan spell, and the club also has an option to buy for €10m. However, this isn’t mandatory.

The 22-year-old American had a season to forget on loan with AC Milan last year, and he also didn’t impress Xavi in pre-season.

Dest has however insisted that he wants to be known as one of the best defenders in America’s history.

“I want people in the United States to remember me as one of their best defenders in history, and one of the best in the world,” Sergino Dest said, as quoted by USMNT Takes.
