Barcelona hero Deco, is now set to take over from Mateu Alemany as the club’s new sporting director.

Deco’s appointment as the new Sporting Director at Barcelona, was confirmed on Wednesday.

Outgoing Mateu Alemany would step down from his role at the close of the summer transfer window.

According to reports from Marca, Deco will bring in Bojan Krkic as a new member of Barca’s technical staff.

Bojan rose through the youth ranks at the La Masia, and will now be in charge of guiding young talents from La Masia and Barca B to the senior team.

Bojan Krkic was a prized talent in his days, and was once tipped to be ‘the new Messi’. Injuries hampered his growth, and he ended up hanging up his boots at the age of 32. He won two Champions League titles nevertheless.
