Barcelona are pushing to sign a new right-back this summer.

Barcelona have already offloaded right-back Julian Araujo, and Sergino Dest has been tipped to leave before the transfer window closes.

So far, Xavi has two centre-back options – Ronald Araujo and Jules Kounde at right-back, with midfielder Sergi Roberto as a third option.

Barca have been heavily linked with Manchester City star Joao Cancelo.

Cancelo fell out with Pep Guardiola last year, and was shipped out on loan to Bayern Munich last season.

Barca are keen on signing him this summer, and Manchester City are demanding at least €60 million to let go of the Portuguese, according to reports from ESPN.

On the other hand, Barcelona are negotiating to sign the player on loan with a mandatory buy option, and Barca are only willing to pay €30m next summer when the loan deal expires.

Both clubs are so far wide apart in their negotiations, but it is believed that they’d reach an agreement before the close of the summer transfer window. Already, Pep Guardiola has branded Cancelo as a disposable player for the Cityzens.
