Neymar was linked with a return to Barcelona, but the Brazilian is now closing in on a move to Saudi Arabia side Al-Hilal.

According to reports, Barcelona could once again return turn to Joao Felix.

The Blaugrana were initially not interested despite a public statement by the Atlético Madrid forward about his dream of playing for Barça.

Felix has stated his desire to play for Barcelona, and it’s all up to Xavi to show an interest in the player.

Barcelona need to replace the departed Ousmane Dembele, and with Neymar not coming to the club, Felix may just be the last card.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has told Joao Felix should leave.

Felix is up for sale at Atletico after spending the second-half of last season with Chelsea.

Simeone told Marca: “What he is giving us or gave us is what was seen. I don’t think he has kept anything back from what he could have given. Just as I behaved with him, trying to give the maximum to get something out of him.

“Possibly in his search, he needs something more… he and his agents and the club will decide.”

Asked if he believes Felix wants to join Barcelona, Simeone replied: “As I always say, the best way to find out is to talk to him. He will know his motives.”
