Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed that Barcelona have triggered another economic lever.
Like last summer, Barcelona have triggered a massive economic lever, this time selling 29.5% of their ownership of Barca Vision (Bridgeburg) for €120m.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has said of the deal: “We have made considerable progress in the digital environments that turn our assets into a creative hub that boosts the FC Barcelona brand to unique levels in the world,” commented president Joan Laporta.
“The content strategy we are carrying out has proven successful and provides us with new ways to connect with our followers at a global level, in addition to generating new revenue streams for the entity.
“This step that we are taking now is a strategic move that provides us with new resources so that our platforms continue to grow at a time when the demand for digital sports content is clearly expanding and reinforces the path of digital transformation that began in 2022.”
LIBERO Football Finance AG and private investment advisers NIPA Capital BV have completed the purchase from Barca in the early hours of Friday, August 11.
Barca decided to sell 29.5% of Bridgeburg after a unanimous decision at the General Assembly held on October 9, 2022.
