Barcelona youngster Yamine Lamal has been buzzing since coming out of the La Masia.
The 16-year-old attacking midfielder made his debut last season, and Xavi is giving him more opportunities in the first team.
Lamal came on as a late second-half substitute against Tottenham, and he had a good game.
Although Frenkie De Jong was named Man of the Match against Tottenham, Lamine Yamal put in a good showing, as he helped with three goals in the space of 13 minutes after coming on as a sub. His introduction sparked a comeback for Barca, as the Blaugrana came from 2-1 down to win the tie 4-2.
Lamal has revealed what Xavi told him before stepping on to the pitch.
“Before I went out, the coach [Xavi] told me to go out with confidence and I took the ball and I didn’t stop pushing forward,” Yamal told Barca media.
“At the moment I’m playing minutes of the opportunities that the coach gives me, and then I’ll take it from there.
“He told me to go out as I always do, to play with confidence, and from then on we’ll go from there.”
