According to reports, Barcelona are closing in on a deal for Badajoz defender Edu Sánchez.

Talks are said to be at an advanced stage for the 18-year-old left-back.

Leganes and Sporting Gijon are also targeting the youngster, but Barcelona have reportedly won the race.

Badajoz sporting director Gudi has said of the transfer: “These are negotiations and we have to wait and see how everything develops.”

The youngster is being lined up by Barca for Rafa Marquez’s Barca Atletic team.

The teenage sensation has also made his international debut in age-group football, turning out twice for Spain under-18.
