Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has admitted his unhappiness at seeing Ousmane Dembele leave the club.

The 26-year-old is set to join PSG, as the Parisians have already triggered his release clause.

Xavi has revealed that he tried so hard to convince Dembele to remain at the club, but his effort was futile.

“Dembele has told us he wants to leave. He has an offer from PSG and we can’t match it,” Xavi told the media.

“It’s a pity. It tastes bad to me. We’ve taken a great care of him. I’m a little disappointed with him.

“I wish him all the best at PSG. He gave us so much. Of course I tried to convince him to stay, but he told me that he spoke to Luis Enrique and Al-Khelaifi. There was no way to convince him, it’s final and it’s his personal decision.”
