With the new season set to kick off, it was expected that Ousmane Dembele will play a huge role for Barcelona.
However, PSG have swooped in on the 26-year-old. The Parisians have triggered Dembele’s contract, and the deal could be confirmed this week.
Barcelona skipper Sergi Roberto has revealed that he tried to convince Dembele to stay back at the club, and is sad that Dembele will be leaving.
“I tried to convince Dembele to stay. I talked to him about it, but he doesn’t talk much anyway,” Sergi Roberto told reporters after the game against AC Milan.
“We read the news, but we weren’t sure if it was true. It’s a shame, but I wish him the best. He’s a good teammate, a good friend, and we love him.
“It’s a shame that Dembélé is leaving. He been here for many years and the squad loves him.
“We all told him that, but he decided to take another decision. We’re very sad, but we have to look forward.”
It would be awesome if Barcelona could give for Mason Greenwood because he is clinical and complete finished. Dembele was good but his technicality was abit poor and his wasn’t consistent. Greenwood is having a tough time after the saga but we can take advantage of that bring him to Barca.
