Las Palmas have confirmed that Barcelona defender Julian Araujo will join them on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old joined Barcelona from LA Galaxy for €4m in February, but has been unable to play for the first team or even Barca Atletic due to registration issues.

Araujo, who plays as a right-back will now join Garcia Pimienta’s side. Pimienta had managed Barcelona Atletic and some other La Masia teams in the past.

Barcelona are currently lacking natural right-backs in the first team, and may be forced to get one, with Jules Kounde having to play that position last season.

Barca have been linked with Joao Cancelo or Ivan Fresneda in August.
