According to reports, Barcelona are considering terminating Sergino Dest’s contract.

Dest spent last season on loan with AC Milan, but was relegated to the bench for much of his loan spell with the Serie A giants. Dest only featured on 14 occasions for Milan during the 2022-23 campaign, with just eight of those appearances coming in Serie A.

The 22-year-old was unimpressive in Barcelona’s friendly defeat to Arsenal, and fans have since said he should be sold off.

The problem now is that Barcelona are struggling to find a buyer for the United States international.

AC Milan rejected the chance to sign Dest permanently, and the American isn’t attracting interest from other sides .

Dest, who joined Barcelona from Ajax in 2020, has two years left to run on his contract at Barcelona.

According to journalist Javi Miguel, Xavi’s team are finding it difficult to find a buyer for Dest, who is on a big contract at Camp Nou.

As a result, Barcelona are considering terminating his deal, as removing his wages would make room in the budget for another signing to arrive.

There is believed to be some loan interest in the defender, however Barcelona want a mandatory purchase option included in any deal.

The 22-year-old has played for Barca 72 times in all competitions.
