There were not so many positives from the pre-season clash against Arsenal, as Barca were beaten 5-3.

There were a number of players who didn’t live up to expectations, and Xavi will definitely be taking note.

Xavi was however full of praise for young full-back Alejandro Balde.

Balde came on for Marcos Alonso at half-time, as Alonso struggled in the first-half.

Balde instantly improved Barca’s pressing after coming on, and was explosive down the left flank.

“Balde has played an extraordinary game,” Xavi told reporters after the game against Arsenal.

According to stats, Balde successfully completed 2 of his 3 dribbles, and won 6 of his 9 ground duels while making two successful tackles.
