Barcelona midfielder Ilkay Gundogan played for the first time for Barcelona, as the Blaugrana got beaten 5-3 by Arsenal.

Despite an early goal from Robert Lewandowski, Barca would go on to lose the game 5-3.

Gundogan has said it will take some time for him to adapt to the team and vice-versa.

“I know the position I played in, but I have to adapt to my new teammates and they have to adapt to me,” Ilkay Gundogan told reporters after the game.

“We have a clear idea of the football that we want to play, and I know what I have to do. The important thing is to be patient.”

Gundogan was subbed off at half-time for Fermin Lopez.
