Earlier today, Barcelona officially confirmed the signing of young defender Mikayil Faye from NK Kustosija Zagreb.

The 18-year-old has a bright future ahead of him,  and has been nicknamed ‘The Monster’, for his robust style of play.

A statement from Barcelona confirmed the deal, thus: “FC Barcelona and NK Kustosija Zagreb have reached an agreement for the transfer of the Senegalese central, who signs with the Club for the next four seasons, until June 30, 2027.

“The player has already passed the relevant medical tests at the Hospital de Barcelona and the Medical Services of the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, has seen the Club’s facilities and stepped on the turf of the Johan Cruyff Stadium dressed in the Blaugrana kit.”

Faye has joined Barcelona on a contract that will run until the summer of 2027. Barcelona have also set his release clause at €400m!

The young defender will join the Barca Athletic.
