Barcelona ended the season with a 2-1 defeat to Celta Vigo away from home.
From now on, the focus will be on the summer transfer market for Barcelona. And a number of players have also been linked with an exit from the club.
Xavi has admitted that the rumours are true, and some players will leave Barca this summer, although he couldn’t categorically state who.
“We have had a great season, remarkable, but we must strengthen ourselves to compete for all titles. We need two powerful players per position,” Xavi said after the Celta game.
“I don’t know if it was the last game for some players, we will try to maneuver, but for the moment we are on ‘stand by’. This week will be key for planning.
“In the last four games nothing has changed in terms of our planning, which was already done.”
Xavi also about the future of Ansu Fati, who scored Barca’s consolation goal against Celta Vigo.
Fati has been continually linked with a move to the Premier League.
“I am happy with Ansu Fati. His season was good, like everyone else’s. Everyone contributed and Ansu was decisive at times. It’s a matter of planning. I can’t say anything regarding his future,” Xavi said about the 20-year-old.
Xavi then assured that Marcos Alonso will continue at the club as a left-back.
He concluded: “Marcos Alonso needs to continue as a left back. For me, he is a guarantee and he has my absolute confidence.”
