Barcelona are La Liga champions, after a four-year wait.

The Blaugrana beat Espanyol 4-2 to win the La Liga, in what has been a deserved title victory for Barcelona.

Speaking after Barcelona’s victory, Xavi admitted that winning the La Liga by  beating derby rivals Espanyol, was a nice way of sealing the title.

“The club, the footballers, the fans deserve it. It will give us stability. We have had a great championship. We won the League in the derby. The scenario was scripted,” Xavi told Movistar post-match.

“The prize has arrived. This league gives us stability to believe in the project. We have been a team. We want to win next matches, finish the season well.

“I remember my family and those who were always by my side.

“Now we are going to celebrate the title as it deserves. The players don’t have a schedule today.”
