PSG fans protest after Messi suspension

Paris Saint-Germain fans turned up outside of the club’s headquarters to protest after it was confirmed that Lionel Messi has been suspended for two weeks.

Messi was handed the suspension following an unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia.

Messi was appointed a tourist ambassador for the oil-rich nation last year,  after agreeing a £25million deal to promote the country.

Messi missed PSG training on Monday, and the club’s Qatari bosses came hard on Messi as a consequence of his trip.

With PSG losing 3-1 to Lorient recently, the PSG fans had seen enough as they arrived in their droves outside of the club’s head office, to protest.

The protest saw fans ignite flares while holding up banners calling on the club’s management to resign.

One banner said: “Leadership resign.”

A second read: “PSG who are you,” while a third had on it: “Where are you going?”

Former Barcelona superstars Messi and Neymar weren’t left out of the fans wrath, as some  fans also targeted them.

PSG fans also protested outside Neymar’s house.

Messi is expected to leave PSG as a free agent this summer.
