
Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has broken Lionel Messi’s record for the most appearances in the El Clasico.
The veteran midfielder made his 46th appearance in football’s biggest rivalry, with Barcelona vs Real Madrid game one of the most heated rivalry in the world.
Busquets played the full 90 minutes and captained Barca to a 1-0 win at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Sergio Ramos also held the record with Messi, as they’ve played for 45 times in the El Clasico.
Busquets who has now featured in 46 El Clasico games, could further increase the record when Barcelona host Real Madrid in the La Liga on March 19, and the second leg Copa del Rey clash on April 5.
