Barcelona defender Eric Garcia has indeed had a tough time this season.

The 22-year-old has been relegated to the bench more often than not, and hasn’t played a single minute since the end of January when Barcelona faced Girona away from home.

Garcia has made 18 appearances for Barca this season, and could get a starting role against Cadiz on Sunday.

Xavi has admitted ahead of Sunday’s game that he has been unfair to the player.

He said: “I’m being unfair to Eric [Garcia]. He trains well. He never complains and is positive with a smile.

“He deserves more minutes.”
