Eric Garcia seems to have lost his place in the Barcelona starting squad under Xavi.

However, the 22-year-old got a start in Barcelona’s 1-0 victory away against Girona.

Garcia definitely had a good outing as he completed 77/84 passes, 12/15 long balls, 3 clearances, 2 interceptions and 5 tackles.

Xavi was full of praise for the Spaniard, and hailed him as one of the best in the world when it comes to passing out from the back.

“Eric Garcia has played a great game, both in defence and attack. He has dared to split the defence [with his passes] in the second half and never lost focus,” Xavi said after the game against Girona.

“He is a guarantee, I have a lot of confidence in him. When it comes to building from the back, he is one of the best in the world.”
