Barcelona defeated Getafe 1-0 in a La Liga clash at the Camp Nou.

At half-time, Xavi made two substitutions, even though Barca were already leading the tie.

The Barca boss took off Alejandro Balde and Andreas Christensen, and replaced them with Jordi Alba and Eric Garcia respectively.

Speaking after the game, Xavi was asked about his strange half-time substitutions.

The Barca boss said: “Balde was good, but we brought in Jordi Alba as a tactical change.

“We needed him to support the midfield. Balde is fine. The substitution was strictly tactical.

“Christensen was replaced as he had some discomfort. I think Christensen will be ready for the next match.”

According to reports, Christensen felt some discomfort in his left hamstring in the first-half.
