Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Barcelona legend Lionel Messi is the beat footballer he has ever seen.

Klopp who was born in 1967, has described Messi as the best player of his lifetime. This also includes Diego Maradona. Klopp has now implied that Messi has achieved more than the legendary Maradona.

“Lionel Messi is the greatest football player of my lifetime,” Jurgen Klopp has told the media, via Liverpool Echo.

“The way he plays football at this age… it should give us all a hint how long footballers can perform at a top level and that we shouldn’t close the books too early. It was a joy to watch him [at the World Cup].

“Argentina deserved it and when you saw the team and the country celebrating, then it probably hit the right country in difficult times. I am really happy for them, they waited for a long time.”
