Lionel Messi is nearing the end of his contract with PSG.

Barcelona want the club legend to return to the club, while PSG are pushing for him to sign a contract extension.

Messi’s current contract with PSG expires at the end of the season, and the French giants have an option to extend the deal for one more year, however both parties have to agree to it.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has however confirmed Messi is happy at PSG.

He has stated once again: “If both sides want the extension to happen, Leo Messi will stay. We agreed to talk after the World Cup.

“I confirm a thousand times that he is very happy with the club, and he is having a very good season. I think he wants to stay.”
