Barcelona striker Ferran Torres started out his World Cup on fine form after scoring a brace against Costa Rica – a game Spain won 7-0.
Meanwhile, Spain boss Luis Enrique has sent his striker a note of warning about his celebrations in the World Cup.
The Barcelona forward is currently dating his international manager’s daughter, and Enrique has jokingly warned Torres not to bring out any baby celebrations after a goal.
Speaking to the media in Qatar, Enrique was asked what would happen if Torres celebrated by putting his thumb in his mouth – a celebration often dedicated to a baby.
The Spain boss replied: “If Ferran Torres scores a goal and celebrates with the baby finger in his mouth, I’ll instantly bench him.”
Enrique then jokingly added: “He’ll never step on a football pitch again!”
